The most difficult part of woodworking to quantify are design aspects. Likes and dislikes are completely different from person to person, but it's the proportions that give a piece visual appeal and seperates graceful from awkward. What gives our woodworking appeal is that our furniture is often composed following the Golden Ratio rule. It appears everywhere in nature and has been used for thousands of years in architecture.

Some prosaic designers say that "less is more." We take a more sophisticated approach to furniture compositions. We find the seductive middle amid two extremes, one of excess and the other of deficiency.
